One out of every thousand individuals experience something called synesthesia, which occurs when one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another. For instance, a certain sound may trigger the visualization of an image or color. I used my five senses as the tools to gather content while my gift of synesthesia bridged the gaps and opened new relationships between what was around me and what I was taking in. Throughout my daily travels around New York City, I began to document fragments of conversations, smells in the air, flavors of food, pieces of imagery, signage and textures. I created a small source folder where I would store my perceptions.
